Allamuchy Pond

Allamuchy Pond (50) acres is in Allamuchy Township, Warren County. It is on the western side of Allamuchy Mountain State Park. The lake is pretty, but there are many weeds and algae in the shallow sections at either end. The two nearby busy highways mean that there is also quite a bit of road noise on the lake. The launch site is primitive, but doable.

Access Issues

The launch site is hard to find. It is not listed on any official map. At the start of the access road (going to Rutherfurd Hall) there is a sign that says “private drive”. Fifty yards beyond that sign there is a second sign to “Allamuchy Mountain State Park”. Take that short and rough road down to the lake. There is parking for half a dozen cars.
