Spruce Run Reservoir

The Spruce Run Reservoir (1290 acres) is in Clinton Township, Hunterdon County. Part of the surrounding land is in the Spruce Run Recreation Area. The remainder is in the Clinton Wildlife Management Area. The boat launch is in the Recreation Area. The Reservoir is part of the Raritan Basin Water Supply system. Water is discharged into the nearby South Branch of the Raritan River during periods of low flow.

Water Level

The following pictures do not do the reservoir justice inasmuch as the water level was approximately 15 feet below normal. However, according the US Geological Survey water-level gauge in the reservoir (see link below), such low water is increasingly normal during late summer. On the same day, the nearby Round Valley Reservoir was almost full.
