Splitrock Reservoir
Splitrock Reservoir is a 650 acre (260 ha) reservoir, located in Morris County. It provides water for Jersey City. The reservoir is three miles from end to end, with many islands. The prettiest part of the reservoir is at the far end. There is a man-made dam on the southwest end of the reservoir. Kayaking is permitted. Swimming is not.
Access
The reservoir is reached by traveling along a mile on a dirt road known as Split Rock Road. The parking lot is near the dam, and about 100 yards from the water. Kayaks have to be carried through the woods down to the dock.
